Well after a long hiatus, we're finally back. On today's show we've got quite a few topics:
-Jack Thompson gets permanantly disbarred. Is this a good thing?
-Uwe Boll making an original movie and game. Is this a good thing?
-New Releases: What Pat and I are looking forward to. Hopefully these are good things.
-And some other random stuff.

Finally, just a quick note to let you all know that we'll be moving away from Blogger and moving towards Wordpress. That will definately be a good thing!
Well, we hope you enjoy the show. It really feels good to be back!

Episode 004 - 2008/08/03
This one took us some time to prepare, which is a bit strange considering the short episode, but here it is. This one's mostly on fighting game topics, including SoulCalibur IV impressions, reactions to Ed Boon's controversial comments at ComicCon (as well as Seth Killian's well-placed rebuttal), Tekken 6 rumors to the Xbox 360, and more. Still, we stopped long enough to talk about some rumors of Xbox 360 price drops coming up in September.

Episode 4 and 5 Information
Yeah, we're still around and alive. Just checking in before the recording of episode 5.
Episode 4 is real, it exists, we recorded it...it was a really short episode, weighing in at 18 minutes before post-production, and was very fighting-game centric. Jeremy's hard at work finishing the release of that as I type this, it should be out later today, and we hope you enjoy it.
Episode 5 will be recording tomorrow night, with the Evolution 2008 coverage and analysis, plus lots of Nintendo talk, we've got some more SoulCalibur IV news to discuss, and more.
See you soon.

Episode 003 - 2008/07/25
As promised, Episode 3 is out now and ready for download/stream.
Not much to say about this one that wasn't said in the preview, but the general consensus among us here at Daikenkai is that it was the best episode so far. Hope you all enjoy it.

Episode 3 is a wrap!
We just finished recording Episode 3, and in the process, added a 35-minute train wreck of a "lost episode" to our vault. We might release that one someday when we're bored. In the meantime, stay tuned this weekend for the actual Episode 3, where we will have...
-Reaction to Iwata's apology for Nintendo's E3 conference
-An update on the Itagaki vs Tecmo situation
-Talk of SoulCalibur IV, a week before its release
-Our take on the quasi-announcement of Marvel vs Capcom 3
-Response to Peter Moore's E3 blog and our vision of the event's future
-We get a good laugh from Kaz Hirai's Xbox 360 comments in Sweden
...and more.

I'm on board
Patrick first told me about Daikenkai when he and Fil had finished recording the first episode. The recording needed some post-production work and he decided to ask me if I could do anything. I could tell right off the bat Pat was serious about this thing, so I signed up to do work on the first episode. Before long Pat was asking me to stay on long term.
I am pretty busy most of the time with my main job, and the free time I have I spend with my girlfriend. So, I was a little apprehensive at first about devoting any time to something I wasn't sure about. But, Daikenkai has been a fun project to work on so far, and I really think it could turn into something pretty awesome.
So, I am announcing that I am committing to Daikenkai for the long haul as the Producer. My job will mostly be behind the scenes but Pat also wants me to eventually get in on some of the recordings too, but we'll play it by ear.
I just want to say thanks to whoever may be reading this for coming by and I hope you enjoy the show.

Episode 002 - 2008/07/17
First thing to note, next year, we give ourselves a couple days between the end of the show and recording. As drained as we were when things wrapped up, this show features plenty of mass-brainfarting and a general aimlessness near the end. We had a lot of fun making this episode, though, and there were a couple points that were nothing less than therapeutic. Hope you all enjoy it.
There will be...
-discussion and analysis of the E3 press conferences
-the verbal firing-squad execution of Nintendo
-Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero: World Tour
-Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter II Turbo: HD Remix
-Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe
-Mirror's Edge
...and more.
